About us

Producing locally and thinking globally is our core competence; it is the added value that has led CPM to grow steadily since 1967.

CPM SpA is one of Italian leading companies in the design and manufacture of special rolling bearings, slewing rings and precision rings.

More than 4 million pieces are produced each year at the Headquarters in Nova Milanese by a highly qualified staff of more than 200, destined for the domestic and international markets.

CPM SpA specialises in customised medium-high volume production of bearings in a size range from 10 millimeter bore to 800 millimeter outside diameter.

CODE OF ETHICS

The Code of Ethics expresses the set of duties and ethical responsibilities in the conduct of business and corporate activities in general of CPM SpA. The addressees of the Code of Ethics are the Company, the collaborators of the Company, the freelance professionals, the consultants and business partners and in any case all those subjects operating under the direction and supervision of the Company, as well as the shareholders of the Company itself.
The principles and rules of conduct of the Code of Ethics enrich the decision-making processes, professional training and guide the conduct of the Company; these rules and principles are binding for the Recipients.
The Company, sensitive to the need to ensure conditions of fairness and transparency in the conduct of business activities and to provide for an ethical responsibility of the Recipients, has adopted this Code of Ethics.
CPM SpA therefore requires from its main suppliers and customers a conduct in line with the principles set out in this Code of Ethics.
The approval of the Code of Ethics takes place in the context of the adoption by the company of the Organisation, Management and Control Model pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001, of which the Code of Ethics is an integral part.

PRODUCTION

The entire production process is in-house in order to constantly monitor the quality of the product, guarantee flexibility in the management of orders and promptness in responding to the different needs of the customer. Each project is followed directly by the technical department, which supports the customer from the product development stages, making available the high level of know-how developed in over 50 years. The adoption and development of the Lean Production is a further strength, according to the company claim "YOUR NEEDS...OUR ACTIONS".

RAW MATERIAL MATTERS

Rolled steel tubes, and forged rings of high quality are the basis for a finished product that meets our customers' standards. From 100Cr6 to 18NiCrMo5, from 42CrMo4 to high-strength stainless steel in salt spray, we offer multiple configurations to optimise the conditions of use.

TURNING

The latest investments have led to the construction of an massive vertical steel warehouse, the creation of a new turning department with a battery of multi-spindle lathes, an island of CNC single-spindle lathes and a robot cell dedicated to the machining of specific products.

HEAT TREATMENT

This is one of the fundamental stages of the production cycle; it is carried out internally by Carbotempra, a company owned by CPM equipped with automated lines and specific latest-generation high-performance furnaces with a low environmental impact dedicated exclusively to bearings. This allows us to optimise time management

GRINDING

It is the core step that guarantees the required precision of the bearing. It is carried out in a up-to-date department equipped with machinery properly designed for the production of bearing rings.

LAPPING

When the application requires high performance in terms of microgeometric surface roughness, lapping of the raceways is carried out. This sensitive stage of processing takes place in the Nova Milanese factory in a dedicated lapping department.

ASSEMBLY

At the end of all production phases, CPM special bearings are assembled on both manual and automatic lines with special care; the assembled bearings are ready for the final testing before packaging and shipment.
