Radial Rigid Ball Bearings


Deep groove ball bearings are versatile, robust and cost-effective mechanical components.
Thanks to their simple geometry, they are primarily designed to support radial loads, while also being able to withstand limited axial loads. 

CPM deep groove ball bearings can be configured in several structural and operating variants:

  • Sealing and lubrication: available in shielded and greased-for-life versions, open and ungreased versions, or configurations designed for direct lubrication within the machine using oil or grease. 
  • Cage options: available with brass, steel or plastic cages. Depending on the operating requirements, full-complement versions without a cage can also be manufactured. 
  • Rotational speed: caged versions are suitable for high rotational speeds. 
  • Surface treatments and coatings: special treatments such as chrome plating, phosphating, zinc plating or black oxide can be applied according to the technical requirements. 
  • Ceramic balls: available for specific applications and operating conditions. 
CPM deep groove ball bearings are mainly manufactured from through-hardened chromium bearing steel or case-hardening steel.
Stainless steel versions are also available for applications with specific environmental or operating requirements.

Oblique Contact Ball Bearings


Angular contact ball bearings have a construction similar to that of deep groove ball bearings.
However, they feature a specific raceway geometry designed to support combined loads, with radial and axial loads acting simultaneously. 

  • Single-row configuration: single-row angular contact ball bearings must always be paired with a second bearing mounted in opposition. The paired bearing is normally identical, although bearings with different dimensions or contact angles may be used for specific applications. 
  • Load capacity and speed: as the contact angle increases, the bearing’s axial load capacity also increases. When preloaded, angular contact bearings provide high stiffness and can operate at very high rotational speeds. 
  • Supply options: available in shielded and greased-for-life versions, open and ungreased versions, or configurations designed for oil or grease lubrication within the machine. 
  • Cages and coatings: cages are available in brass, steel or plastic. Protective or functional surface treatments can include chrome plating, phosphating, zinc plating and black oxide.

Four-Point Contact Bearings


Four-point contact ball bearings feature a construction similar to that of angular contact bearings, with an internal geometry specifically designed to support combined loads.
Compared with double-row angular contact bearings or paired single-row angular contact bearings, four-point contact bearings offer the significant advantage of requiring less axial installation space. 

  • Multidirectional load capacity: their special internal geometry enables them to support radial loads, axial loads in both directions and overturning moments. 
  • Structure and components: they are generally manufactured as full-complement ball bearings and incorporate dedicated plastic separators designed to improve rolling performance and operating life. 
  • Stiffness and speed: when preloaded, four-point contact bearings provide high structural stiffness. However, they are not suitable for extremely high rotational speeds. 
  • Configurations and treatments: available in shielded and greased-for-life versions, open versions or configurations lubricated directly within the machine. Surface treatments can include chrome plating, phosphating, zinc plating and black oxide.
